Grand opening event includes Halloween trunk or treat, school tours, food from local vendors and live music

Zionsville, IN – Oct. 28 – School of Rock, a leader in performance-based music education, announces the grand opening of its school in the Zionsville community. The grand opening will take place at 675 S Main St., from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. Along with a ceremonial guitar smashing (School of Rock’s version of a ribbon-cutting), it will be a festive afternoon with a Halloween Trunk or Treat to give out candy, school tours, live music, and food from local vendors. COVID precautions will be taken with proper social distancing and masks required.

School of Rock Zionsville is owned by Steve McFarland. He opened his first School of Rock location in Carmel in 2012 and then another location in Fishers in 2015. Several families from Zionsville were commuting to the Carmel location, so McFarland decided to open a new location in Zionsville to meet this demand.

“Zionsville has a rich history of supporting and participating in fine arts and we hope to be another key part of that history,” said McFarland. “This opening is really driven by the dedication of a group of moms who asked us to come to Zionsville and we are thrilled to provide an outlet for more people to express themselves musically. Our grand opening is unique because our Zionsville students started a Rock 101 and AC/DC Performance group rehearsing at the Boys and Girls Club of Boone County and those groups will now perform at the grand opening of their new school.”

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Frank Zappa. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.

“Steve McFarland is truly dedicated to bringing the School of Rock experience to every student in the Zionsville community,” said Rob Price, CEO of School of Rock. “We are proud to have him as part of the School of Rock family, and we look forward to watching his enterprise grow with this new location.”
