MATT SHOCKLEY CHOSEN 2020 STATE HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR

AIMED-5The Indiana Association of School Principals (IASP) has recognized Matthew Shockley, Principal at Avon High School in
Avon, Indiana, as the 2020 State High School Principal of the Year.

He was also named District High School Principal of District 8. District 5 is located in central Indiana and is made up of Boone, Hamilton, Howard, Madison, Miami and Tipton Counties.


The recognition ceremony is a part of the 2020 Principals of the Year Recognition Celebration, a part of IASP’s annual Fall Professional Conference
hosted by IASP State President, Eric Gilpin, presiding along with Dr. Todd Bess,
Executive Director.


District High School Principals of the Year are elected by their peers. One
principal is honored from each of the 12 districts. From these 12 District High
School Principal winners, Matt was chosen as the 2020 State High School
Principal of the Year.


The Indiana Association of School Principals is a not-for-profit, professional
association serving over 3200 building level administrators in the state of Indiana.
